Barry Usher serves as a part-time Apprentice Pastor at West London Alliance Church. He and his wife Alicia have two adult sons, Matthew and Andrew. Their family began attending WLA in 2012 and is deeply grateful for the church’s biblical faithfulness, authentic fellowship, Christ-centred worship and discipleship, and commitment to the Great Commission.
Barry is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with degrees in both Music and Education. He also completed theological studies through Master’s College and Seminary (Bachelor of Theology) and Trinity College and Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana (Master of Theology). Over the years, God has graciously opened doors for him to work as a professional musician with a variety of artists and organizations, and as an educator in the Faculty of Music at UWO and within the Thames Valley District School Board.
In March 2024, Barry reduced his teaching responsibilities with the TVDSB to enter WLA’s pastoral apprenticeship program. He is grateful for this season of discernment and preparation and remains passionate about seeing Jesus Christ magnified (Phil. 1:20), the gospel proclaimed as the power of God for salvation (Rom. 1:16), and the church built up in faith through the ministry of the Word (Eph. 4:11–13).
