Opportunities to Serve in Ministry

Children's Ministry

The Growzone team is made up of many people with different talents, gifts, and abilities but they all share one thing: their desire to make known the Greatness of God to our kids by the lives they live, the love they show and the work they share. By filling out the "Start Serving at WLA" form and indicating an interest in Children's Ministry, your information will get passed on to Judith Gaunt, our Director of Sunday Morning Children's Ministries. Youth Ministry

Here at WLA we have both a Junior High Ministry (Grades 6-8) and a Senior High Ministry (Grades 9-12). They meet on Tuesday nights and Wednesday nights respectively. We also have a Jr. High service ("Shift") during first service every Sunday in the Core. Youth Ministry leaders strive to disciple the younger generation through relationship, small groups, prayer, and mentorship. By filling out the "Start Serving at WLA" form and indicating an interest in Youth Ministry, your information will be passed on to the Director of Student Ministries Jon Magwood.

Seniors Ministry

The Forevergreen (Retirees) ministry at WLA meets weekly on Thursdays. By filling out the "Start Serving at WLA" form and indicating an interest in Seniors Ministry, your information will be passed on to Lyall Mix, our Associate Pastor.

Worship Ministry

The Worship arts ministry seeks to honour and glorify God through communal musical worship on Sunday mornings and at special gatherings. We are looking for individuals with musical giftings in guitar, piano, vocals, percussion, and other instruments to serve on the team. We also need individuals wanting to serve in A/V and tech roles (sound, projection, etc.) Musicians and technicians are often scheduled on a monthly basis for Sunday morning services. By filling out the "Start Serving at WLA" form and indicating an interest in Worship Arts, your information will be passed on to Dave De Smit, our Director of Worship Arts.

Prayer Support Team

If you believe that prayer ministry is one of your spiritual giftings, join others at WLA as a team unified in prayer for things happening at our church and for opportunities. Some of the scheduled prayer meetings include: Congregational Prayer (1st Sunday of the month 6:00PM), Women's Early Morning Prayer (Tuesdays 6:15AM), Men's Early Morning Prayer (Thursdays 6:30AM).

Taste of Home

The Taste of Home ministry aims to pair WLA families with young adults, most of them students, who are living in London, away from their families. This is a practical way to show hospitality and love to a young person in the form of things like a home-cooked meal, a ride to church, friendship and fellowship. If you are a family interested in being paired up with a student, or a student interested in being paired up with a family, fill out the "Start Serving at WLA" form and we will get back to you!

General Ministry Support

If you are wanting to serve wherever it is needed most, let us know! Sometimes this could look like administrative help for one of our staff, stuffing bulletins, setting up and cleaning up for an event, cooking a meal and much more. Fill out the "Start Serving at WLA" form and we will get back to you about times that you are available.
