Daniel was born in Hong Kong. He attended High School and University in B.C. Daniel is married to his wife Evelyn. They have two children: Samuel and Ingrid.

He was a high school teacher before serving the Lord full time in a church. He graduated from the Canadian Theological Seminary, which is now known as the Ambrose, and the Fuller Seminary. He served as a youth pastor in the London Chinese Alliance Church in 1992. Then in 1995 he served as one of its leading pastors. 

In September 2019, the London Chinese Alliance Church joined ourcongregation at West London Alliance Church. Now, Daniel is the Pastor of the Chinese Fellowship of WLA.
