Women's Ministries

WLA Women's Ministry exists to equip women with the Word of God, for the work of His kingdom. Through all of our activities, we do ministry with and for each other to grow in our knowledge, love and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, and to proclaim His gospel and make disciples.  

Whatever your calling and contexts, we invite you to join us in our various ministry initiatives as we worship Christ and are transformed into His likeness!

The Ladies Connection (TLC)

TLC is a ministry by and for women that meets Monday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. or Wednesday mornings from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m., September to May. In our TLC groups, we study the Bible and pray: we enjoy one another's company: and we seek to encourage one another in the challenges of life and faith. 

Starting in September 2025 we will study the book "Revelation: Eternal King, Everlasting Kingdom" by Jen Wilkin. 

Our Monday group will start on September 8th at 7 p.m., while the Wednesday group will begin on September 10th at 9:15 a.m. in the Fireside Room. For more information, please contact Louise Somerville at louise.s46@rogers.com. New ladies are most welcome!

Early Morning Prayer

Each Tuesday of the school year, from 6:15 to 7:30 a.m., a group of women from all stages of life meet in the WLA sanctuary for discussion, prayer, and encouragement. We pray for our international workers. We discuss the previous Sunday's sermon and its application to our own present experience. We pray for one another and for our church’s ministries. Many of the women go out for a quick breakfast after prayer. Drop-ins welcome and no sign-up necessary. Growing in Grace

A few times a year, the women of WLA and their guests meet on a Saturday morning for singing, teaching, testimonies and mutual encouragement. Once a year, we have a special Christmas Advance on the second Saturday in December. It is our desire that these mornings would assist us in growing closer with one another and deeper in our faith in God. Retreat

Once a year in June, the women of WLA get away together for a weekend retreat. It is a time of teaching, prayer, fun and fellowship. The teaching is centered around one theme or one book of the Bible that is intended to strengthen our knowledge of God’s Word and to equip us to love one another well. We carve out time for a half-day of personal prayer with God. We spend a lot of time singing and laughing and enjoying God’s creation in the great outdoors. Details of each year’s retreat are posted on our Facebook Group and are typically announced at the end of March.
